| It has taken Microsoft more than twelve years to take
the promising but crude beginning that was Windows 95
to produce an Operating System product with the power
and functional richness that LILAC was always intended
to exploit. The new window management and presentation features of Vista suit LILAC very well. As any regular user of LILAC knows the exploitation of multiple windows in the LILAC WYSIWYG document and reporting interface is extensive, and this is one area in which Vista is a huge leap forward over Window XP and it's predecessors. |
| Of course Microsoft intend Vista primarily as a desktop
& notebook workstation environment and the current
server offering is still Windows Server 2003. Nevertheless such is the flexibility of our LILAC product that - in smaller network situations - you may use Vista in the server role quite happily. |
| As always with new Microsoft products the resource
demands increase. Vista needs generous amounts of
memory and very high performance video hardware to run
well. Lennox Computer do not recommend upgrading existing PC hardware to Vista without careful consideration of the hardware's performance and capacity. |
